Gala es una cantante y compositora de pop italiana afincada en Brooklyn, Nueva York. Ha vendido más de seis millones de discos en todo el mundo. Su álbum debut Come Into My Life incluyó los 3 sencillos que llegaron a ser discos de platino: «Freed from Desire«, «Let a Boy Cry» y «Come Into My Life«, y alcanzaron el Top 3 en listas de música en Europa, Sudamérica, Rusia y Medio Oriente.

1996 – 1999
A cambio de una foto para un DJ Europeo, Gala grabó su primera demo. «Freed from Desire» fue escrito por ella en Nueva York y luego enviado por correo al extranjero en una cinta de cassette. Fue grabado en Londres y fue lanzado por sello independiente italiano Do It Yourself Records.
En 1996, Gala fue elegida Mejor Cantante Femenina del Año en Italia por la revista Música e Dischi.
En julio de 1997 fue galardonada con el Italian Dance Award como la mejor artista de pop-dance del año. También logró un Disco de Diamante en Francia, un Disco de Platino en Benelux y un Disco de Oro en el Reino Unido. 2000–2010
Instalada en Brooklyn, Gala se propuso redefinir su sonido, su vida y su carrera, resurgiendo como artista independiente.
En 2005, «Faraway» fue lanzado en Francia por EMI y en Grecia, donde alcanzó el #1 en la lista ventas de iTunes y el #6 en las listas nacionales. «Faraway» fue coproducida por el productor/músico de Cash Money Records, Kevin Rudolf. Apareció en un anuncio televisivo de Bod Man, transmitido por MTV, HBO y versionada por el ganador de Greek Idol, Tamta.
En 2008, Gala formó el sello Matriarchy Records, con sede en Brooklyn, Nueva York.
«Tough Love» fue el álbum debut de Matriarchy Records lanzado digitalmente en todo el mundo el 6 de septiembre de 2009. Incluyó colaboraciones con un grupo de conocidos productores, incluidos el baterista Deantoni Parks, Marcus Bell y Kevin Rudolf el cual en 2008 logró un #5 en la lista Billboard (EEUU) con su canción con Lil Wayne: «Let It Rock«. Gala también colaboró con Tamir Muskat, fundadora de Balkan Beat Box en su canción «I Am The World, The World Is Me«. Gala produjo de forma independiente 4 videos musicales para el álbum «Tough Love«. 2010 – Presente
En 2010, «Tough Love» apareció en la popular serie de televisión estadounidense The Millionaire Matchmaker (EE. UU.). El mismo año, «Freed From Desire» se utilizó para un comercial de televisión Nissan en Francia y España.
En 2011, Gala presentó el nuevo single «Lose Yourself In Me» en el show Dance in Summer en Beirut, junto a Taio Cruz, T-Pain, Dev y Dash Berlin. El evento fue organizado por MixFM Radio y «Lose Yourself In Me» alcanzó el puesto #2 en los 10 mejores de la lista de ventas Airplay antes de su lanzamiento, y luego se ubicó en el puesto #1 en la radio líbana RFX Radio durante 3 semanas consecutivas. También sonó en Fun Radio y Radio FG en Francia. Estuvo en alta rotación en Impact FM y Radio Antipode, y entró en la lista de los nuevos lanzamientos de Fun Radio en Bélgica, entre otras estaciones. El video musical fue producido de forma independiente por Matriarchy Records en colaboración con The Masses. Fue dirigido por Alistair Legrand hermano de Victoria Legrand de la banda Beach House. La versión Deluxe del EP incluyó la producción original de Marcus Bell y remixes de Bimbo Jones, Hoxton Whores, Starkillers y Almighty Records. En Bélgica, el video también apareció en la web del periódico principal Dernier Heure y Gala apareció en las noticias de la mañana y de la tarde de RTL para hablar sobre su nuevo single.
Gala encabezó el concierto de los Juegos Olímpicos de Invierno de 2014 en Medals Plaza en Sochi. Fue transmitido en directo en Europa Plus TV, el canal musical más grande de Rusia. En 2015, actuó Live en el Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza. También, hizo una aparición especial en el concierto de Youssou N’Dour para Dakar Ne Dort Pas en Dakar, en el Día de Año Nuevo. El evento fue televisado por Tele Future Media.
En 2016, Gala grabó una versión acústica de «Freed from Desire» en Les Studios Saint Germain en París, para la película «Un homme à la hauteur» dirigida por Laurent Tirard con Jean Dujardin (Ganador del Premio de la Academia al Mejor Actor 2012 en The Artist) lanzada en mayo de 2016.
En 2017, Gala realizó Live shows en el Palau Sant jordi, en Barcelona y en la Ciudad de Las Artes y Ciencias, en Valencia. También actuó en el Gay Pride Madrid, siendo 2017 el año en que Madrid se convirtió en World Gay Pride.
2018. Gala, afincada en Brooklyn, escribió y compuso dos canciones originales junto al cantante y compositor Jesse Ruben y KylePatrick, «Happiest Day of My Life», mezclado por Miles Walker y «Nameless Love», con coproducción y mezcla por Andros Rodrigues, para la película “Favola”, dirigida por Sebastiano Mauri y presentando por Filippo Timi. Fue estrenado en el Festival de Cine de Torino 2018, “Favola” se proyectó en el prestigioso 45º Festival de Cine Flaiano en Pescara en junio, donde ganó el Premio Flaiano al mejor «Opera Prima». En junio de 2018, «Freed From Desire», una vez más fue “elegido” por los fanáticos de futbol de varios equipos como un himno deportivo durante la Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2018. Gala is an Italian pop singer and songwriter that lives in Brooklyn, New York. She has sold over six million records worldwide. 1996 – 1999
In exchange for a photo for a European DJ, Gala recorded her first demo. «Freed from Desire» was written by her in New York and then mailed overseas on a cassette tape. It was recorded in London and was released by Italian independent label Do It Yourself Records.
In 1996, Gala was voted Best Female Singer of the Year in Italy by the magazine Musica e Dischi.
In July 1997, she was awarded the Italian Dance Award as the best pop-dance artist of the year. She also achieved a Diamond recording award in France, a Platinum record in Benelux and a Gold record in the United Kingdom. The same year she was nominated for the Best Dance Act at the Mobo Awards in the alongside The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers and Orbital. She also won Best Foreign Artist of the Year at the Midem in Cannes, France.

Settling in Brooklyn, Gala set out to redefine her sound, her life and her career, re-emerging as an independent artist.

«Tough Love» is Matriarchy Records’ debut album released digitally worldwide on September 6, 2009. It Included collaborations with a host of well known producers, including drummer Deantoni Parks, Marcus Bell and Kevin Rudolf who in 2008 achieved a #5 hit at Billboard (USA) with his song featuring Lil Wayne, «Let It Rock». Gala also collaborated with Tamir Muskat, founder of Balkan Beat Box on her song «I Am The World, The World Is Me«. Gala independently produced four music videos for the «Tough Love” album. In 2010 «Tough Love» was featured in popular American television series The Millionaire Matchmaker (USA). The same year «Freed From Desire» was used for a Nissan television commercial in France and Spain.
In 2011, Gala performed the new single «Lose Yourself In Me» at the show Dance in the Summer in Beirut, next to Taio Cruz, T-Pain, Dev and Dash Berlin. The event was organized by MixFM Radio and «Lose Yourself In Me» reached #2 in the top 10 of Airplay Charts before its release, later ranking at #1 in Lebanon RFX Radio for 3 consecutive weeks. The song was played, among other stations, on Fun Radio and Radio FG in France. It was on high rotation on Impact FM and Radio Antipode, and entered the new releases on Belgium’s Fun Radio. The music video was produced independently by Matriarchy Records in collaboration with The Masses. It was directed by Alistair Legrand brother of Victoria Legrand from the band Beach House. The video featured full LED suits and krump dancers from Los Angeles and was choreographed by Gala. After its release, the video was featured on the home page of Dailymotion, Yahoo France, The Huffington Post, The Mediateseur, and Vogue.
In 2013 Gala shot a video for the song «Taste Of Me» choreographed by Benoit Swan, Artistic Director of New York’s avant guard dance company Cedar Lake, and directed by New York-based French director Alexandre Moors (Kanye West’s «Runaway«). It was featured as an exclusive with Digital Spy, the most popular news and entertainment website in the UK. In Europe the video was revealed exclusively by Fun Radio. The deluxe version of the EP included the original production by Marcus Bell and remixes by Bimbo Jones, Hoxton Whores, Starkillers and Almighty Records. In Belgium the video was also featured in the online version of the major newspaper Dernier Heure and also, Gala appeared on RTL morning and evening news to speak about her new single.
Gala headlined at the 2014 Winter Olympics at Medals Plaza in Sochi. The performance was broadcasted live on Europa Plus TV, the largest music channel in Russia. She performed an one-hour set and debuted her new single, «The Beautiful«. She opened her performance with her 90’s hit, «Let A Boy Cry«, in support of her LGBT following. On November 20 InHouse Records label in New York released her EP «The Beautiful«, in collaboration with legendary House DJ/ Producer Todd Terry, and a Deluxe EP followed, released on Gala’s label, which included remixes by Todd Terry, Hoxton Whores , Lodge 21, Ryan y Smitty, Midnight Magic and Lauren Flax.
In 2015, she performed Live at the Hard Rock Hotel in Ibiza. She also made a cameo appearance at Youssou N’Dour’s concert for Dakar Ne Dort Pas in Dakar on New Year’s Day. The event was televised by Tele Future Media.
In 2016, Gala recorded an acoustic version of «Freed from Desire» at Les Studios Saint Germain in Paris, for the movie «Un homme à la hauteur» directed by Laurent Tirard with Jean Dujardin (Academy Award Winner for Best Actor 2012 in The Artist) released in May 2016.
In 2017, Gala held live shows at the Palau Sant Jordi, in Barcelona and at the City of Arts and Sciences, in Valencia. She also performed at Gay Pride Madrid, being 2017 the year that Madrid became World Gay Pride.
2018. Gala wrote and composed two original songs alongside Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Jesse Ruben and KylePatrick, “ Happiest Day of My Life“ mixed by Miles Walker and “Nameless Love“ with co-production and mixing by Andros Rodrigues, for the movie Favola directed by Sebastiano Mauri and featuring Filippo Timi. Premiering at the 2018 Torino Film Festival, Favola was screened at the prestigious 45th annual Flaiano Film Festival in Pescara in June, where it won the Flaiano Award for best «Opera Prima” In June 2018, “Freed From Desire”, was once again adopted by fans of several teams as a sports anthem during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The summer has returned to Europe delighting us with her live show accompanied by her band of musicians and dancers, an awesome Summer Tour that because of the many demand she is preparing repeat for the next year, 2019.
