Corona es un proyecto musical italiano de Eurodance. Liderado por la cantante y modelo de origen brasileño Olga Maria de Souza y producido por Francesco «Checco» Bontempi. Tuvieron gran éxito comercial con éxitos reconocidos por todo el mundo como «The Rhythm of the Night» (1993) y «Baby Baby» (1995).
El primer single de Corona, «The Rhythm of the Night», fue lanzado en Italia en noviembre de 1993 con el sello discográfico DWA de Roberto Zanetti, y llegó a convertirse en un éxito al instante. Se posicionó como número 1 en la lista de éxitos italiana durante ocho semanas consecutivas. En la primavera de 1995, la canción estaba sonando en todas las radios y clubs por toda América, llegando a alcanzar el número #11 en la lista Billboard Hot 100.
Corona en 1995 con sus singles «Baby Baby» y «Try Me Out», consiguió un éxito similar. Otro single, «Do You Want Me», se convirtió en un éxito regional en las discotecas del este de Estados Unidos.
El tercer álbum, And Me U, fue lanzado en 2001 en la Brazil’s Abril Music, bajo el nombre Corona X. Olga De Souza cogió todas las responsabilidades como única vocalista. Desde entonces Corona ha estado de gira por el mundo con Olga De Sauza como primera línea en el grupo.
Corona is an Italian Eurodance project. Formed by Brazilian-born singer and model Olga Maria de Souza and producer Francesco «Checco» Bontempi, it found commercial success with worldwide hits «The Rhythm of the Night» (1993) and «Baby Baby» (1995).
Corona‘s first single, «The Rhythm of the Night», was released in Italy in November 1993 on Roberto Zanetti’s DWA record label, and became an instant hit. It stayed at number 1 on the Italian music chart for eight consecutive weeks. By spring 1995, the song was all over American radio and clubs, eventually reaching #11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Corona followed up with the 1995 singles «Baby Baby» and «Try Me Out», with similar success. Another single, «Do You Want Me», became a regional hit in discotheques in the Eastern U.S.
The third album, And Me U, was released in 2001 in Brazil’s Abril Music, under the name Corona X. Olga De Souza took all vocal duties on herself for the very first time. Since then Corona has been touring around the world with Olga De Sauza as the front.
